Vanuit de buurschap Manen bij Ede, nu reeds lang verdwenen, verspreidden de inwoners zich wijd en zijd, Ze werden Van Manen of Van Maanen, al naar de ambtenaar of de aangever het bedacht had, Van de twintig takken komt hier de Lunterse tak II in zicht. We gaan terug tot ca 1600, maar wie weet welke gegevens er nog in de geschiedenis verborgen liggen.
